History

1980.

International Liaison Committee of Societies for Biomaterials (ILC) established. In order to promote the international communication and cooperation, four original constituent societies, Canadian Biomaterials Society, European Society for Biomaterials, Japanese Society for Biomaterials and Society For Biomaterials (USA), decided to organize World Biomaterials Congress (WBC) every four years.
