Chinese Society for Biomaterials Vice President Prof. Zhang Shengmin Honored with TERMIS Asia-Pacific Lifetime Achievement Award

Prof. Zhang Shengmin, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials (CSBM) and Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, has been awarded the 2025 TERMIS Asia-Pacific Lifetime Achievement Award.

TERMIS (Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society) is the world’s most influential academic organization in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The TERMIS Asia-Pacific Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to a single scientist who has made outstanding contributions to the field.

Prof. Zhang received the 2025 award in recognition of his groundbreaking discoveries in bioenergetic active materials, as well as his exceptional contributions to technology translation and global collaboration in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. He is the first scientist of Chinese origin to receive this award since its establishment.
